Research Lines

Our research focuses on the study of the factors that shape the genetic and metabolic diversity of microbial communities. Specifically we work with 1) Microbial invasions, using experimental fungal communities as a model; 2) The influence of Antarctic marine animal settlements on edaphic bacterial communities; 3) Microbial communities in volcanic soils and their role in colonization; 4) Inter-specific associations, using lichens as a study model.
