They find great biodiversity of native species in Quebrada de Elqui Valley

Numerous types of birds, rodents, reptiles and felines were recorded in the Paihuano area. Added to this are 21 species of native bees and flora typical of this area. Milen Duarte, environmental biologist at the Institute of Ecology and Biodiversity, IEB, together with a team of experts, leads studies that seek to protect the natural heritage of this territory, which would be threatened by mining activity.
